Vue Court
Daylesford

Project:

Vue Court Residence

Location:

Vue Court, Daylesford

Commissioned:

2024

Description:

Benefiting from a sprawling site of 1,200 square-metres and enjoying views over Mount Franklin, the six bedroom, 800-square-metre house presents a discrete façade that doesn’t scream for attention from the street. Conceived as two rectilinear forms, one above the other, the concrete and glazed façade is simply framed with a lush garden setting.
Rather than a table in the entrance with a display of flowers, visitors are greeted by one of the owner’s cars, elevated via a hoist from the basement parking for six cars that accommodates the remaining suite of cars – akin to a sculpture but considerably larger!
Featuring two living areas, fluid open spaces and state-of-the-art technology, this Daylesford home also includes a gymnasium and sauna at basement level. And to ensure the spaces on the upper two levels benefit from the views over the rolling countryside, many of the living spaces have been loosely divided with either joinery, a double-sided fireplace, or, as with the case of the division between the kitchen and dining area, a glazed wall for the display of wine. Pivotal to the design is the generous central courtyard, which can be easily accessed from all the spaces.
